Berserk of Gluttony on Crunchyroll gives a twisted spin to the beloved "My worthless skill isn't actually that useless" trope in many anime.
Warning: Spoilers for Berserk of Gluttony episode 2Berserk of Gluttony on Crunchyroll is the latest fantasy series to pander to the highly popular "My useless skill is actually not so worthless" trope. However, the anime, based upon the light novel series by writer Ichika Isshiki and illustrator fame, gives this fad a much darker spin while even deconstructing the "genre" entirely.
That said, after accidentally learning of Gluttony's true potential, Fate does become extremely overpowered like most heroes in his situation. He easily outmatches every monster and human to the point where there is little to no conflict - another ubiquitous feature of this type of series.
