Primary election results should be available Tuesday night, central Pa. elections officials say
Cumberland County’s director of elections and voter registration, Bethany Salzarulo, did not respond to a request for an interview. However, Samantha Krepps, the county’s communications director, said in an email that 15,971 mail-in/absentee ballots were distributed and 9,974 had been returned as of Thursday.
Drasher anticipates first results being posted online by 9 p.m. and he hopes final results can be available an hour later.“We might not even get there because we have a lot of uncontested races,” he said. “If we break over that, I’d be pretty happy.”Sarah Geesaman, Perry County’s director of elections and voter registration, said that “everything should be running pretty smoothly” on primary election night.
Geesaman said she’s hoping for a 50% turnout, with lively races for county commissioner, school boards, district attorney and district judge potentially drawing voters to the polls.
