El astronauta estadounidense de origen salvadoreño Frank Rubio dijo este viernes que salvo por una molesta en la espalda, se siente casi al '100 %' recuperado a menos de tres semanas de haber regresado a la Tierra después del récord de 371 días continuos en la Estación Espacial Internacional (EEI).
Durante una conferencia de prensa en el Centro Espacial Johnson de la NASA en Houston , Rubio, de 47 años, aseguró que aún tiene un poco de molestias en la espalda baja y en los pies. La salud y recuperación de Rubio ha despertado gran interés porque es el astronauta de la NASA con más días continuos en el espacio y su experiencia ayudará a la preparación de futuros planes para regresar a la Luna y llegar a Marte.
Pero a mediados de diciembre del año pasado la agencia espacial rusa, Roscosmos, detectó una avería en el sistema de refrigeración en el casco exterior de la nave debido al impacto de un micrometeroide, lo que obligó a retrasar el regreso del astronauta y permanecer en el EEI con cuatro diferentes tripulaciones y alzarse con dos récords en su haber.
