A Miami-bound flight had to be diverted to Jacksonville on Wednesday afternoon after experiencing a “mechanical issue,” the Jacksonville Aviation Authority said.
The flight, carrying 186 passengers, two pilots, and four flight attendants, landed safely at Jacksonville International Airport at 5:52 p.m., as confirmed by data from FlightAware.
The diverted flight was securely parked at a terminal gate in Jacksonville at 5:52 p.m., where the airline initiated efforts to accommodate the affected passengers. A secondary aircraft was arranged to transport the customers to their final destination. The estimated time of departure from Jacksonville was set for 8:45 p.m. Eastern Time, with an expected arrival in Miami at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Delta Airlines sincerely apologized to its passengers for the inconvenience caused by the incident and the subsequent delay in their travel plans. The airline assured its customers that their teams were working diligently to minimize any further disruptions and ensure a swift resolution. Delta Airlines expressed its commitment to prioritizing the safety of its passengers and crew members in a statement released to Action News Jax.

The flight crew of Delta flight 1328 ATL-MIA followed procedures to safely divert to Jacksonville after a cabin pressurization issue occurred. Our teams are working to re-accommodate customers and get them to their final destination as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay in their travels.
