He said the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, complete with floats, beads, and booths along Greenville Avenue is the signature event.
“I think we’re just one of those economic pilots that lights this Greenville Avenue area,” Navarro said. The parade was lined up and ready to go this week in 2020 when the dominoes of cancellations swept across any large gatherings across the country when the World Health Organization reclassified COVID-19 as a pandemic.
“We were the first big event to be canceled when the pandemic happened,” Navarro said. “We didn’t know if it would be two weeks, two months – turned out to be two years.”
