The fountain's dye job is the work of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, celebrating its 30th year.
The water of the Capitol fountain, which can be found behind the east wing of the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg, was dyed bright pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It’ll stay pink throughout the month, as a reminder of the importance of mammograms and early detection in fighting breast cancer. The fountain is also meant to be a symbol of hope to all the survivors of breast cancer in the state. The fountain’s dye job is the work of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, an organization celebrating its 30th anniversary, and which is devoted to helping breast cancer victims and survivors through educational programming, research and legislative action.
The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition teamed up with the Pa. Dairymen’s Association to give out free pink strawberry flavored milkshakes at the event. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
