The Aurora City Council is considering analytics software Aurora Police Department officials said would improve the Critical Incident Intelligence Center.
The council’s Infrastructure and Technology Committee recently recommended a $666,328, five-year contract with Georgia-based Fusus for Real-Time Crime Center software.Lt. Andy Wolcot, of the Special Services Division at the Aurora Police Department, said the software would upgrade the operating system at the Intelligence Center, which opened in 2019.
Wolcot said the City Council actually authorized the spending for the system in 2022, but Aurora police officials did not like the original vendor because of “hidden costs” in the proposed agreement. If approved, the city would spend $41,328 on the software through the end of the year, and $125,000 each year for 2024 through 2028.
