A frightening moment aboard an Alaska Airlines flight with 84 passengers and crew onboard when authorities say an off-duty pilot tried to turn off the engine.
Authorities arrested Joseph David Emerson, who they accuse of sitting in the flight deck jump seat -- which is in the plane's cockpit -- and"unsuccessfully attempted to disrupt the operation of the engines."
Alaska Airlines says the captain and first officer"quickly responded" and that engine power was not lost.
