A Baton Rouge police officer responding to the crash had struck Brown, 38, as she lay in the roadway after the hit-and-run, the department said in a news release Sunday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.Quincy Brown, Quiana Brown’s brother, told The Washington Post the details of the fatal accident have left him at a loss.
The Baton Rouge Police Department did not respond to requests for comment from The Post. The department is investigating the crash, according to its news release.Friends and family said Quiana Brown was a loyal friend and a devoted mother. Cleopatra Jones, a close friend, said she met Quiana Brown at a shopping center that both women frequented. Jones, who called her “Kiki,”“One day I was mad, and I said something mean to someone,” Jones said.
